Mr. Johnnie Lewis Williams, Sr., of Madison Fla. passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at the age of 84. Johnnie was born on July 22, 1936, to Mr. Johnny P. Williams and Ms. Zettie Carter Williams, in Shady Grove Fla.
After completing the 6th grade, Johnnie earned a degree in life. He farmed for approximately four years, and then he began employment as a mechanic for Mr. McWilliams.
On Dec. 26, 1958, he married his sweetheart, Barbara Joyce. They moved to Live Oak, Fla. for a short time before returning to Madison. In 1963, Mr. Williams opened his own mechanics shop, J. Lewis Williams Garage, all the while, having four children. He was a member of Midway Church of God in Lee, Fla., where he did many tasks as a member, and loved the fellowship of his church family. He was a heartfelt person and a very observant father. Johnnie was an incredibly talented musician and could play the guitar and harmonica at the same time.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: J.P. and Nathan Williams; three sisters: Ruby Godbold, Jessie Mae Jones and Catherine Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Joyce Agner Williams; one son, Johnnie Lewis Williams, Jr. (Jo), of Cherry Lake, Fla.; three daughters: Barbara Ann Prine, of Madison, Beverly Joost, of Madison and Wanda Champagne (Robert), of Wakulla, Fla.; one sister, Mary Premorel, of Dowling Park, Fla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at Barbara Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Fla.
