Johnny Gordon Gaston, age 70, passed away on Saturday, May 14, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
A graveside memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 17 at 11 a.m., at the Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
Gaston was born on March 19, 1946 to Emmett and Mae Gaston. He was brought up in Pinetta Baptist Church, where he later became a member. He was ordained as a deacon and afterwards, became ordained by the same church as a minister. In recent years, Gaston served in the Broken Lance Native American Church in Live Oak.
He loved the Lord and loved people and would always do what he could for others. He loved to fish and be outside. Gaston helped in the construction of N.F.J.C., North Florida Junior College.
He is survived by one sister, Peggy McDonald (Richard), of Clyattville, Ga.; two nephews: Richard “Ricky” McDonald (Sherry) and Kenny McDonald (Debbie) of Valdosta and one niece, Tina Eubanks (Keaton) of Pelham, Ga.
