Josia May Greathouse, 79, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Josia was born June 9, 1942 in Walnut Hill, Ill., daughter of Virgil Oakley Sanders and Catherine Della French. She married James Fredrick Greathouse on Sept. 30, 1960, at the Naval Air Station in Memphis, Tenn. Josia loved orchids and roses and was always playing in the dirt. She was an avid reader and was a librarian assistant in Lee, Fla. until she retired in 2016.
Survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, James Fredrick Greathouse; Mrs. Greathouse is also survived by three sons: Rodney Trent Greathouse (Monica) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Stacy Allan Greathouse (Rachel) of Fairview, Tenn., and Jeffrey Thomas Greathouse (Aaron) of Culver City, Calif.; one daughter, Kathy Lynn Greathouse (Timothy McGinniss) of Madison, FL; two Brothers, Carl Thomas Sanders (Linda) of Centralia, IL; Virgil Del Sanders (Robyn) in MO., one Sister, Della Denise Ianuzzo (Len) in Sarasota, Fla.; five grandsons: Rodney Trent Greathouse, Jr., William Adam Greathouse, Sebastian Rhys Harris, Kevin James Greathouse, Daniel Greathouse; three granddaughters: Allisen Lena Greathouse, Lindsey Gehl Greathouse, and Michaela Rae Greathouse; and one great grandson; Kale Lane Greathouse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James Fredrick Greathouse, Jr.
