Julian "Lamar" Tuten, of Moseley Hall, Perry and Ocala, Fl., was born Feb. 3, 1937 and passed away Jan. 4 after suffering a stroke on New Year's Day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Faye Tuten, and his wife and high school sweetheart, Carol Jean Ragans Tuten of Madison.
Lamar led a fulfilling life, learning a strong work ethic at a very young age. He used that drive to earn a scholarship to the University of Florida, rise to president of two banks and own a successful business.
Next to his family, Lamar's greatest love was the outdoors and number one on his list was the Gulf of Mexico.
He loved sharing memories of grouper, snapper, redfish and trout fishing trips.
Grieving the loss of Lamar are his son, Rick (Jennifer); sister, Hazel Sheffield; grandchildren: Kinley, Tyler, Chase, Ashlyne and Ryan; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
"Dad" and "Uncle Lamar" will be greatly missed, as he was a positive influence on the lives he touched. Everyone was important in his eyes and he treated all with due respect and kindness.
