Mrs. Katherine Slocumb Pitts, age 94, died Monday, July 13, 2020, at her home in Lee, Fla.
Mrs. Pitts was born to Augustus and Sarah Hay Slocumb, in Monticello, Fla., where she grew up. She lived in Madison over forty years. Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and enjoyed sports, especially the Florida State Seminoles, and her beloved baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Finnis B. Pitts; and brother, Nicholas Slocumb.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Littleton (Mike), of Madison, Fla.; sister, Derry Cruce (J.W.), of Lee, Fla.; three grandchildren: David Blanton (Tonya), Wendi Blanton and Kaitlin Littleton; four great-grandchildren: Martina Blanton, Xander Hoffpauir, Ashton Blanton and Matthew Hutcheson; one great-great-grandson, Shaun Hutcheson; two nieces: Susan Mitchell and Cathy Reams; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Ebenezer Cemetery in Monticello, Fla. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the family home at 170 SE Kinfolks Way, in Lee, Fla.
