On Thursday, July 9, the Madison Kiwanis Club welcomed Sarah Baltzell and Victoria Todd to their weekly meeting. Baltzell and Todd are recipients of scholarships granted to them by the Madison branch of Kiwanis-- a global organization which focuses on helping children. Sarah Baltzell was the 2014-2015 President of the Madison County High School Key Club and was also selected as the 2015 Florida 4-H Leader of the Legacy; an agent nominated, youth committee selected award that recognizes graduating Senior 4-Hers who impact and represent the 4 H’s of 4-H: Head, Heart, Hands, Health.
Baltzell plans to attend North Florida Community College to finish up her Associate's Degree which, she remarks, is almost completed. After NFCC, Baltzell plans to attend the University of West Florida where she will study General Education, with hopes of becoming a teacher and eventually holding an administrative position. She asserts that teaching special needs children and re-integrating them into a normal classroom is one of her goals. Victoria Todd recently moved to Citrus County where she lives with her father. She is currently finishing her Associate's Degree, which she started at North Florida Community College, at College of Central Florida. She then plans to obtain her Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Administration from the Panama City branch of Florida State University.
