On Monday, Mar. 6, the Madison County Central School (MCCS) Lady Broncos softball team traveled to Tallahassee to face the Lady Seminoles of Florida High. The Lady Broncos seemed to be in a hurry to get back home because again they dispatched their opponent in early innings. This, time it took only four innings to put away the Lady Seminoles with a final score of 19-0. The Lady Broncos wasted no time, getting off to an early 9-0 lead in the first inning, and they never looked back. The Lady Broncos added five runs in the second inning, two runs in the third, and three more in the fourth. By that time, there was no point in going on, and the game was called after four innings.
At the plate, the Lady Broncos again proved to be very effective. Shelby Burt went three-for-four with three RBIs. Brianna Thompson had two hits in four at-bats and drove in three runs. Rheanna Schreiber had a good game of hitting, going two-for-three and chalking up two RBIs for the Lady Broncos. Angel Vann hit a triple in her one at-bat, driving in one run. The winning pitcher for the Lady Broncos was Halie Wetherington who struck out 10 batters with no hits, and only walked one batter.
The victory improved the Lady Broncos' record to 8-1 for the season.
