Lawrence “Larry” F. King, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Camellia Gardens, in Thomasville, Ga. Larry was born on Jan. 13, 1934, in Valdosta, to the late Dr. Loomis P. King and Mary Elizabeth King, of Greenville. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After attending Auburn University, he enjoyed a career as a pharmacist. Larry was a big Auburn Tiger fan, loved fishing, playing tennis and his many pets. Nothing gave him greater joy than his family.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite Annette Mixson King, and his three brothers, Loomis King, Frank King and Jerry King. He is survived by his loving family; daughters, Jeri Ann King, of Charlotte, NC, Mary “Happi” Cook (Richard), of Thomasville, Ga.; his beautiful granddaughters, Madison Cook and Camille Cook, of Thomasville; and his puppy Rosie.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, in Madison, with the Rev. Joe Boyles officiating. Visitation will follow the service at 3 p.m. in the church parish hall.
