Mr. Lee Comelander Bishop, Jr., age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, in Alachua County, Fla. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at Beggs Funeral Home, Madison Chapel. Interment will follow at Macedonia Church Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home.
He was born on June 26, 1937, in Madison County, Fla., to Rosa Galphin Bishop and Lee Comelander Bishop, Sr. Lee attended Lee United Methodist Church and was a founder and member of the Men's Choir there. Lee loved to go to the Madison Stockyards; he loved to eat and loved to "wheel and deal." He loved animals and always had a garden. He always loved to sing, hum, or whistle. Lee had a very contagious smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents; by his first wife and mother of his children, Lavonne Hamrick Bishop; and by his second wife, Annelle Bishop.
He is survived by four daughters: Cathy Winebrenner (Charles), of North Carolina; Rosa Crowder (Bill), of Greenville, Fla.; Happy Hughes (Russell), of Greenville; and Iris Wynn (Scott) of Jennings, Fla.; one brother, Lawrence Bishop (Sandra), of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Olivia Ann LaMotte, and husband, John, of North Carolina; ten grandchildren: Kristi Land (Anthony), Jeremiah Bell (Alejandra), Lindsey (Mike) Lawson, Lee Hunter (Brittany), Jason Hunter (Rebecca), Kristen Hughes, Kimberly Hughes, Rebecca Hughes, Scotty Wynn, Caroline Wynn; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
