The summer activities at the Lee Public Library are just getting started.
Every Monday, from 10:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m., Get Set Read will take place. During Get Set Read, special visitors will be making a stop at the Lee Public Library to speak with kids. Some of the visitors scheduled to appear are Michelle Scout (June 20), with the Ag Extension Office and Trisha Blair (June 27), from the Health Department. During the hour-long event, there may also be fun activities such as reading, crafts and more!
Once a week, on Wednesdays, the Record Breaking Game Day (from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) and Get in the Game with Teens (from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30) will be held.
Record Breaking Game Day is for ages up to 12 and will be hosting fun indoor games such as checkers, jenga, bean toss competitions and, as weather permits, library staff hope to encourage fun outdoor games as well. Get in the Game with Teens will be much the same, but with more competition ans challenges for older participants.
Bringing each week to a close will be the Friday Fantastic Fun Days from 11 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Each Fantastic Fun Day may be a little different, with features like Lego builds, movies and popcorn making each Friday fun.
There is a lot of fun planned for the months of June and July, but make sure you visit Lee Public Library on time to participate, as the summer programs end on Friday, July 22.
