Lester Bell, age 75, of White Springs, Fl., passed away on Sunday, Mar. 12, 2017, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fl. with his family by his side.
Lester was born in Madison, Fl. on May 24, 1941, to the late Ninie and Leona Downing Bell. He was the owner and operator of Bell’s Auto Repair and Wrecker Service for many years. He also served as a policeman and was promoted to Chief of Police in White Springs as well as serving as a Hamilton County Deputy until his health forced him to resign many years ago. Lester loved to fish and spent many years at Suwannee, Fl., catching red fish in Johnson Creek with his family.
Lester was preceded in death by his three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ray (Jean), Fred (Annie) and Vernon Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Bell of White Springs, Fl.; his son, Freddie Bell (Beth) of Lake City, Fl.; his daughter, Pam Bell Marvin of Jasper, Fl.; his grandchildren: Michelle Jones (Bryan), Kimberly Crowder (Pete), Steven Bell, Heather Marvin, Amber Bell and Ashley Marvin; his great grandchildren: Blaide (Ashton), Bailey, Haylee, Audrey, Bo and Emily; his sisters: Lottie Mae Stokely of Valdosta, Ga., Margie Starling (Raymon) of Guyton, Ga., Bobbie Littleton of Katy, Tx. and Carlie Bell of Cross City, Fl.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Bell of Madison, Fl.
Graveside services were held at Dowling Park Cemetery in Dowling Park, Fl. on Wednesday, Mar. 15 with his cousin Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Home of Jasper, Fl. was in charge of arrangements.
