Lester Lavaughn Bell, age 76, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in his home after a lengthly illness.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 30, at 2 p.m., at Midway Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Interment was at Midway Cemetery.
He was born on July 12, 1940 to his parents, Colon and Annie Bell. He was a 1958 graduate of Madison County High School. He enjoyed sports, and his real passion was to compete in track meets. His last meet was in 2010 at age 70.
He was the owner and operator of Bell Tree Farm Inc., Land Developer, Rancher and Insurance Agent. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a member of Midway Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years. He loved God, his family and his country.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Thomas Bell; one daughter, Tamara (Jeff) Wallett, of Tampa; two sons, Brian Bell, of Lee, and Kevin (Kim) Bell, of Lutz, Fl.; seven grandchildren: Weston Hencke, Sheldon Hencke, Mathew Wallett, Madison Bell, Aubrey Bell, Autumn Bell, and Kason Bell; one brother, Raymond (Martha) Bell, of Lee and two sisters, Frances Latner, of Lee, and Bonnie (Donnie) Floyd, of Virginia Beach, Va.

He was predeceased by his parents, Colon and Annie Bell, an infant son, and granddaughter, Shellie Marie Hencke.
