"How do YOU as a black person show that Black Lives Matter to you on a daily basis?”
Who are we trying to convince that black lives matter? Once they are convinced, then what? Will their convincing create a change in how we value each other?
This movement is timely and needed because it is pulling races together as one, however, we MUST raise as much hell when black men are slain by other black men, and when black women are degraded by black men, I don't care if it's our favorite rapper/entertainer who is doing it, etc. As a black man, I MUST respect and value other black men, I MUST respect his wife, I MUST respect all women, no matter if they are in a broken state, I MUST support the legal business and hustle of black people in my community and abroad, I MUST value my wife and children while teaching and displaying the high value of family structure, I MUST help to keep my community safe, clean and peaceful, I MUST refuse to be jealous of another black who have seemingly more than I do, I MUST use my resources to build up my community and set my children, grandchildren and community children up for a better future than what I had, I MUST check any family member who tries to destroy the character of another black person or one who is speaking hatred towards any race of people, and much more.
Kudos to the blacks who are making it known through actions on a daily basis that black lives matter to you first, and refusing to just wear the paraphasia in hopes of convincing another to care before you do.
My 11 year old son wants a Black Lives Matter shirt and I told him “NO” because he is the SHIRT and for him to walk that slogan out daily through his actions instead of wearing it as garment that he has to take on and off!!
