Dear Greene Publishing, The front page story about mail delivery, by Lazaro Aleman, has me pretty upset. The faceless bureaucracy of the USPS 's nine-member governing board most likely will approve the new delivery standards proposed by the incompetent Louis DeJoy, Postmaster General. According to Mr. Aleman, "....USPS reportedly filed the plans with its regulators on Aug. 22, and planned afterwards to hold hearings to solicit public input". Since DeJoy filed his plans 27 days before this story appeared in the Carrier, one must wonder : 1) How many hearings for public input have already been held, 2) How many hearings were scheduled, and how many---IF INDEED ANY--- are left, and 3) Where are any remaining hearings to be located---complete list please, of time(s) and date(s), with COMPLETE ADDRESS(s) including zip codes. Our postal service used to be the envy of the world, but now it's the laughing-stock. Benjamin Franklin, the founder, must be turning over in his grave !! To think that the high standards he demanded have been subverted to the disgustedly low bar that now is accepted by the government bureaucracy is almost more than John Q. Public can stomach. I know, I know---the USPS is technically no longer a branch of the Federal government. But we all know that Congress is still the ultimate authority here, and IT NEEDS TO EXERCISE THAT AUTHORITY NOW, and put a stop to the madness that DeJoy has unleashed on the American public. Sincerely Yours, Tim Murphy
