The Madison Lions Club continued a holiday tradition of theirs on Thursday, Dec. 23, when they put together food boxes to help feed 20 needy families in Madison County, just in time for the big holiday meal. Along with volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), the Lions Club members met at Bob and Jim's Neighborhood Market and packed boxes with grocery items such as a ham, frozen and dried vegetables, fruit, potatoes, stuffing, dairy products and even apple and cherry pies.
The Lions Club has been undertaking this project for several years, but this year it was larger than in previous years, thanks to generous support from Verizon Wireless/TCC Gives and Madison County Memorial Hospital.
