Fresh off their successful “God and Country” celebration, the Madison Lions Club has installed a new set of officers to help lead the local service club.
Tim Dunn will take over the duties of treasurer. Immediate past-president Joe Herring will now take the secretary position. Jay Lee will take the helm as the club’s President. Ina Thompson will serve as vice-president. Jim Sale will be the “tail twister” and John McQuaid will be the club's “lion tamer.”
Madison's oldest service club, the Madison Lions Club, has been serving Madison since 1942. The local club has helped provide eye exams and eye glasses for local citizens, both young and old. This follows one of the goals of Lions International, which is to tackle the problem of blindness. The Madison Lions Club also supports local teachers with school supplies, as well as the annual God and Country celebration in concurrence with the Fourth of July. The Madison Lions Club meets each Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the meeting room of Cucinella's Brick Oven Pizzeria.
