The Madison Lions Club met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 28, at Cucinella's Brick Oven Pizza, in Madison. The club discussed the upcoming Fourth of July event, which they host every year in Madison, at Lake Frances. The event is held at the pavilion at the lake, which the Lions Club donated to the City of Madison. Recently, the club donated the materials for city personnel to clean, stain, and seal the structure.
The club is in search of vendors, sponsors, advertisers, and musical acts to headline the event, which last from 3 p.m. until dark, when it is culminated with a fireworks show. The fireworks are donated by Madison County Community Bank and Johnson and Johnson, Inc., and the Lions Club provides the staff to actually launch them. Anyone interested in being a vendor, sponsor, advertiser, or performer at the event should contact Jay Lee at (850) 973-7509.
