Mr. Lloyd Richard Day, age 86, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 in Tallahassee, Fla. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at Hensey Cemetery in Greenville, Fla. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison.
He was born and raised in Greenville, Fla. and had lived in Madison County most of his life. He attended First Baptist Church in Madison. He served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Day graduated Florida State University with a BA degree in Business. He was employed as an accountant with Cantey Motor Company, Madison County School Board, Florida Department of Revenue and the Leon County School Board. He loved to travel, and he loved Florida State University baseball and football. Also, as a hobby, he raised vegetables at Spray Creek Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Edith Day; five sisters: Pauline Day, Myrdean Norris, Jeanette Cooper, Juanita Foland and Hoyt Wansley; two brothers: Marcus Day and Elmer Day.
He is survived by one son, Lloyd Richard Day, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Levy Cooper of Apalachicola, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and several great-nieces and nephews and cousins, along with many other relatives and friends.
