Junior Miss Madison County 2015 winner, Simmora Louise Lott, 11, was recently selected to compete as a finalist in the 2015 Miss Pre-Teen Pageant on Sunday, July 26th in Tallahassee. This will be Lott's second pageant she will be competing in this year, with the hopes of winning and moving on to represent Tallahassee and it's surrounding communities at the National competition in Orlando, Fl. Lott and her family have prepared for this pageant and are excited to begin training this Saturday. "I have helped Simmora to prepare for this pageant by encouraging her to think positive and by giving her my undivided attention every time she practices," said Simmora's mother, Demetrie Tillman. Not only did Simmora win the overall title, Junior Miss Madison County, she also took home awards for prettiest smile and best stage presence in the 10-12 age division. According to Simmora, her last pageant helped her get over nervousness and with assistance from her friends and family, her walk was perfected. "I have practiced my walk and my smile in front of my family, only so I won't be nervous," said Lott. Not only is Simmora excited but so are her loved ones. Her mother, Demetrie Tillman, would like Simmora to take away not only the trophy, but something much deeper from these pageants. She hopes that, while competing, Simmora will gain self confidence, as well as, a competitive edge.
Win or lose, she wants her to know that she is a winner in their eyes and the hearts of her family members. "Competition is very important in helping bring out the inner drive of an individual. I hope that Simmora learns that hard work and putting forth effort can pay off tremendously," said Tillman. In this pageant, Simmora will compete in one of four divisions amongst other young ladies, ages seven through nineteen, in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear. She will display her personality and interviewing skills in front of judges at the chance of winning her share of thousands of dollars in prizes, according to the official Miss Pre-teen Pageant press release. Simmora is also very active in her community and at school. She is a member of the Greenville Boys and Girls Club and The Jeremiah 31:13 Praise Dance Team of Greenville, Fl. She is excited to meet new friends and continue doing pageants because she has found that they are a lot of fun. "Simmora has always excelled in her academics, but has never had an interest in sports. So finding something that she enjoys doing has been a joy for me and her family to watch her partake in," said Tillman. Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor of Simmora may contact Miss Pre-teen Pageant coordinator, Alejandra, at 1-877-403-6678.
