Lois Virginia Mathis Webb passed away Saturday, April 23, in her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Lewis Webb; her parents, John Henry Mathis and Bessie Mae Mathis; sister, Ann Wilkins and brothers Buddy Mathis and Ronnie Mathis.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Rutherford (Gene); her son, Daryl Webb (Karen); her grandchildren: Lucas Rutherford (Ashley), Allyce Havard (Daniel), Ashley Rutherford (Bill Gibson), Darcy Webb, Audrey Webb and great-grandchild, Addison Rutherford. Survivors also include siblings: Irene Foxx, Marie O’Barr, Bonnie Webb and Richard Mathis; one sister-in-law, Hazel Phillips and a very large extended family.
Lois enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, raising her chickens and reading; most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Lee.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family wishes to thank the community and friends for the comfort, companionship and food provided during her illness and passing. They also wish to express their appreciation to her medical support team and her caregivers; Down Home Medical: Tammy Williams and her staff Big Bend Hospice: Linda, Karen, John and the entire Big Bend Hospice staff. Caregivers: Twanna, Frances, Norma, Sherry and Erin.
