Lola Grace Thigpen, 81, died on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Thigpen was born in Adel, Ga. and lived in Madison for most of her life. She loved fishing, unsweet tea, strawberry ice cream, yard sales and, she loved to go to Shired Island in Dixie County, Ga. Thigpen was also a member of Bible Deliverance Church, in Madison.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Thigpen; three sons: Tommy (Marie) Thigpen and Joey Thigpen, both of Madison, Dale (Bonita) Thigpen, of Trenton; three daughters: Ann (Jim) Jeans, of Valdosta, Irma (Ed) Hutchinson and Pat (Chuck) Gillean, both of Madison; one brother, Charles Lasseter, of Lee; 26 grandchildren; 62 plus great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m., at Bible Deliverance Church in Madison. Burial will follow at Cherry Lake Baptist Church, in Cherry Lake. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison. Beggs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
