Louella W. Lamb, 97, passed away on Jan. 25 at her home in Madison while surrounded by her family. Louella was born May 9, 1918 in Joplin, MO. to O. F. Walker and Myrtle Brock Walker.
Mrs. Lamb was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Mrs. Lamb worked as a legal secretary for Ramond Cowart and Ron Zant Law Firms. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework and spending time in her garden tending to her flowers.
Louella was preceded in death by her parents, O. F. and Myrtle Walker; husband, William B. Lamb; children: Emma Skaggs, Erma Chaney and William F. Lamb; sisters, Lena Baltzell and Mildred Walker; granddaughter, Linda Jean Strickland and her great grandson, Michael Humphrey.
Mrs. Lamb is survived by her grandchildren: Marchetta Touchton, Lisa Evans, Chris Gianino, Misty Agner and Ashley Lamb; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one nephew and longtime family friend and caregiver, Paige Kelley.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Madison with Bro. John Ballard officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterwards in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 at Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
