Louise Shaw Herring, age 92 of Madison, went home to be with her Lord on Oct. 1, 2022. She was born on Oct. 2, 1929, in Valdosta, Ga. to the late William Walter Shaw and Annie Lee Pinson Shaw.
Louise was married to M.C. Herring on Dec. 1, 1945. They were married for 64 years. She was very active in Pine Grove Baptist Church for 64 years, where she taught Sunday School, was involved in the WMU group, church choir, was the church pianist, homecoming committee and many others. For the past ten years, she has been an active member of Redland Baptist Church of Valdosta, Ga.
She volunteered for the Cancer Society and was a member of the Historical Society, the Treasures of Madison County, home Bible study groups and the recently organized widows’ support group. She was dedicated to making her home a home for family dinners, birthdays and other occasions. She was always a gracious hostess. Louise retired from Tri-County Electric in 2009 after 36 years of service and was known as the voice of Tri-County Electric.
She was predeceased by her husband, M.C. Herring; parents, William Walter and Annie Lee Pinson Shaw; grandparents: Thomas and Addie Lee Slaughter Pinson and Thomas and Rosa Lee Rutherford Shaw; grandson, Charles O’Neil Herring; sister, Evie Mae Shaw Diamond and brothers, John Q. Shaw and T.J. Shaw.
Survivors are two sons: Jerry (Carol) Herring and Kenneth Herring; grandchildren: Brody (Stacey) Herring, Simmi Ann Herring (Jason) Taylor, Jordon, Luke and Casey Herring; great-grandchildren: Dawson Herring, Brice Herring, Vance Taylor, Rubie Louise Taylor and Huck Malcolm Taylor; two sisters, Betty Deloach of Valdosta, Ga. and Marie Shaw of Jackson, Ga. and brother, William (Clemmie) Shaw of Panama City, Fla.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m., at Pine Grove Baptist Church, in Madison. Interment services will follow immediately afterward in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her name to your favorite charity.
