The daughter of Mr. Ora Lee, Sr. and Mrs. Corrine McDaniel Herring, Mrs. Mabelene Lee Phillips was born on November 19, 1955, in the county seat for county government, Madison County, Florida. Mrs. Mabelene Lee Phillips enjoyed life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, devoted relative and friend. A woman of wisdom, she was known for her unique way of expressing herself as well as living life to it’s fullest. She will long be remembered for her keen insight, wittiness and astuteness regarding life’s challenges and means of survival. She was an active member of Jeslamb African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church in Madison, until she relocated to Orlando, Florida in 2002. Upon her relocation, she joined Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church under the pastoral care of Rev. Dr. Mark E. Crutcher. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her daughters: Tameka Fudge and Amy Jonas Brasby; her son, Raymond Jonas, Jr.; her grandchildren: Kendrick Brown, Sr., Areesha Fudge, Jamarien Moore, Asia Alexander, Dyneziah Jonas, Khirysten Jonas, Jahquez Fudge, Raven Jonas and Raymond Jonas, III; her great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, mother, sister and brother-in-laws, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation and wake services will take place on Friday, April 3, from 5-8 p.m., at Jeslamb A.M.E. Church, 185 NE Almond Ave., Madison, Fl. A service of Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m., at Jeslamb African Methodist Episcopal Church, 883 NE Celosia Drive, Madison, Florida with Pastor Deborah Warner officiating, and Reverend Dr. Mark E. Crutcher, eulogist. Interment: Jeslamb A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Postell’s Mortuary is providing service for the Phillips family.
