The Great Pumpkin Patch, hosted by the Madison Church of God, in connection with “Pumpkin Patch USA,” came to Madison on Thursday, Oct. 12, and will continue through Wednesday, Nov. 1. The Great Pumpkin Patch opened for pre-school tours and elementary school fields on Oct. 12. The tours and field trips will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The hours of operation for the Great Pumpkin Patch will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The patch will be open on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. There will be a variety of different sizes of pumpkins with prices ranging from $0.50 to $3 and up for bulk pumpkins.
The theme for this year's pumpkin patch will be the characters from “Peanuts.” You and your family can come and take pictures with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the “Peanuts” gang. The Great Pumpkin Patch will have a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 28, with games and activities beginning at 10 a.m. The Madison Church of God is located at 771 NE Colin Kelly Hwy., in Madison.

October 28
On Saturday, Oct. 28, join Concord Baptist Church Parsonage for a night of fun starting at 5 p.m. This is a donation-only festival; all proceeds benefit the mission school in Val Sal, Haiti, that is sponsored by Concord Baptist.
Activities will include multiple yard games, a bounce house, giant jinga and corn hole toss. Also included will be a cake walk, a cake auction and a chili cook-off! Are you participating in the chili cook-off? The chili drop off time is at 4 p.m.
Come out and brings the kids! Bring a chair too, to enjoy the live Christian music. Concord Baptist Church Parsonage is located at 829 NW Concord Church Rd., in Greenville.
October 31
On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Madison Police Department (MPD) will host their annual Downtown Halloween event starting at 6 p.m. in downtown Madison. Children are invited to dress up and come downtown to trick-or-treat where local businesses and individuals will be set up and passing out candy.
The new events this year will be a costume contest and the “Dunk A Cop” event. The categories for the contest will be ages five and under, ages six-12 years-old and ages 12-18 years-old. Awards will be given out to first, second and third place winners in each category. Awards for the most creative costume and the most scary costume will also be presented. Be sure to register for the contest at the Madison Police Department's table, which will be located on Pinckney Street in front of the courthouse, starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31. But hurry, space is limited to 20 kids per age category. The “Dunk A Cop” event will give you a chance to dunk one of Madison’s Police Officers in a dunk tank. A $1 donation will give you two chances. All money raised will go towards the MPD Police Explorer Program. Make sure to visit the MPD boothe in order to “Dunk A Cop.”

November 4
Midway Baptist Church of Lee is holding their Harvest Fest and children of all ages are welcome. On Saturday, Nov. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., you can enjoy refreshments, games, face painting, a cakewalk, rock painting, dunking for apples, and a sack race. There will also be lots of prizes and candy. The event is free.
