On Tuesday, March 10, the JV Cowboys faced off with their rival, Taylor County. The Cowboys took the lead in the top of the second with a single by Dylan Bass, plating Jay Mitchell. However, the game was back and forth and the boys didn't hold a firm lead until the fifth inning on a two-run single by Trey Adams, plating Hunter Burt and Jay Mitchell. Dustin Bass racked up two RBIs on two hits, doubling in the first inning and singling in the sixth inning. Meanwhile, Dylan Bass's pitching game was strong. He racked up nine strikeouts, allowing no earned runs on three hits and no walks over 51/3 innings. The Madison County JV Cowboys didn't surrender the lead after the fifth inning, and the runs piled on. The boys accumulated three runs in the sixth. Dustin Bass made a single, scoring Dylan Bass and John Flournoy. The boys have been playing like champions. They preceded the Taylor match-up with a Feb. 27 game against Valwood, and won 13-3. John Flournoy reached base three times, scoring one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning. The JV Cowboys added five more runs in the bottom of the third.
