Madison County Emergency Management and North Florida Community College are hosting their 3rd Annual Madison County Preparedness Expo on Tuesday, May 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Van H. Priest Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. The event will be filled with guest speakers, experts, exhibits and door prizes. The event speakers will be from Tri-County Electric, Madison Fire Department, National Weather Service, Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and discuss how you can be prepared for the upcoming 2015 hurricane season. Guests can also learn about other disasters and hazards that could affect them and how to prepare. Exhibitors will include Duke Energy, Tri-County Electric, American Red Cross, National Weather Service, Madison County E.M.S, Madison Fire Rescue, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army, Division of Forestry and Madison County Health Department. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with public safety partners and discuss preparedness,” said Leigh Webb, Emergency Management Program Coordinator.
