On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Lee First Baptist Church was filled with the serenading tunes of Madison Creative Arts Academy's (MCAA) Winter Concert. The concert was complete with jazz, symphonic and concert bands, along with
a combined melody piece. The MCAA music director, Dillard's Polikarpov, even joined in on playing while student Layla Peavey conducted.
“I had a good time trying something new,” said eighth grade student Layla Peavey. “I am honored to have been voted student conductor for the 22-23 school year.”
The concert was enjoyed by all who came.
The next event involving the MCAA band will be the lower grade school talent show and cake auction fundraiser taking place on Friday, Jan. 27. Upper grades will have their talent show and auction on Friday, March 24.
