The Madison Fire Department is proud to announce that it has built a proper honor box to store flags.
A huge thank you to Spring Moon Sign Designs for the printed US Flag to place on the front of the box.
The Madison Fire Department has been and will continue to accept any USA, State or Military flags that citizens want to dispose of due to age, damage or any other reason.
Please do not throw United States of America flags in the garbage. This is disrespectful to our nation and all that have died in service to, have served and are presently serving our country.
Bring old or worn flags to the station, and they will be disposed of in the proper way. Any size flag (large or small)will be collected.
Flags are collected during the year and then handed off to agencies such as the American Legion, who will hold the proper flag retirement ceremony to respectfully dispose of old, worn flags.
Remember, Flag Day is June 14th.
