The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In January, Madison Fire Rescue received only a few more calls than in December. There were a total of 58 calls. The department answered 18 calls in the city and 40 in the county. In the city, there were six medical calls, three fire alarm calls, and one call each for smoke scare, CO detector, gas leak, gas smell, power line down, LZ setup, vehicle fire, motor vehicle crash and to install a smoke detector. In the county, there were 10 motor vehicle crash calls, nine fire alarm calls, seven medical calls, five brush fires, two structure fires, two smoke alarm calls, and one call each for lock out, vehicle fire, gas smell, power line down and smoke scare.
