The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In April, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 63 calls. The department answered 23 calls in the city and 40 in the county. In the city, there were four calls each for medical assists and LZ setups, three calls each for motor vehicle crash and smoke alarm installs, two calls each for lift assists and smoke scares and one call each for public assist, gas leak and power line down. In the county, there were 19 motor vehicle crash calls, nine medical assists, five vehicle fires and one call each for smoke alarm install, gas smell, structure fire, tree fire, log pile, power line down and fire alarm.
