The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In January, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 67 calls. The department answered 33 calls in the city and 34 in the county. In the city, there were 10 medical calls, four fire alarm calls, five motor vehicle crash calls, eight lift assists, three public assists and one call each for gas smell, dumpster fire and smoke scare. In the county, there were 14 motor vehicle crash calls, three fire alarm calls, eight medical calls, four brush fires, three fire alarm calls and one call each for LZ setup, lock out, assist law enforcement officer, illegal burn and public assist.
