The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In May, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 82 calls. The department answered 26 calls in the city and 56 in the county.
In the city, there were five calls each for medical assists and assist EMS, four calls for LZ setup, two calls each for motor vehicle crash, fire alarm, brush fire and smoke scare and one call each for vehicle fire, structure fire, assisting forestry and power line down. In the county, there were 21 motor vehicle crash calls, 12 medical assists, seven vehicle fires, three calls each for brush fire and smoke scare, two calls each for assist EMS, fire alarm and structure fire and there was one call each for power line down, tree down, wire down and lift assist.
