The Madison Fire Rescue assists residents in both the city and county for all their fire needs but they also assist with vehicle wrecks, medical assistance and transportation. In March, Madison Fire Rescue received a total of 87 calls. The department answered 44 calls in the city and 43 in the county. In the city, there were 20 lift assists, eight motor vehicle crash calls, five medical assists calls, three fire alarm calls, three EMS assist calls, three LZ setups, one illegal burn and one dumpster fire. In the county, there were 17 motor vehicle crash calls, six brush fires, two structure fires, four medical assists, three vehicle fires, three EMS assists, two smoke scares and one call each for trash fire, power line down, lift assist, smoke alarm install, lock out and fire alarm.
