The Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church will present One Silent Night on Sunday, Dec. 13 during the 11 a.m. and 6:08 p.m. services. The Chancel Choir is under the direction of Lynn Corbin. One Silent Night, a cantata by well-known composer Pepper Choplin, features lovely original songs based on traditional Christmas scriptures as well as familiar carols. The lyrics of the songs tell the story of the birth of Jesus in simple but elegant music. During the 11 a.m. service, the choir will be accompanied by a small orchestra of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, double bass and piano. The evening service will feature Analine Acosta as piano accompanist. Both presentations include dramatic interpretation by the children and youth of the church. Soloists include Rachel Campbell, Kim Sanders, Mike Norfleet, Ted Sanders, Bailey Barefoot and Rollie Seiple. Everyone is invited to attend the cantata. Madison First United Methodist Church is located at 348 SW Rutledge St.
