Madison’s Word of Mouth (WOM) is holding a Covered in Kindness Drive for anyone struggling to keep themselves and/or their family warm this holiday season.
This is Madison WOM’s first donation drive and takes place through Sunday, Dec. 31. Madison has many senior citizens and low-income families, many of whom do not have the means necessary to keep their homes warm. This year, Madison WOM is asking the community to help those in need in our community by donating blankets.
Madison WOM is working with local agencies and non-profits to locate those in need and plans to distribute the blankets while they receive them. This way people who need the blankets will not be waiting to be kept warm. Madison WOM suggests people with compromised immune systems bring new blankets. Heated blankets are also welcome.
The donation drop-off locations are The Madison Police Department and the Edge of Town. Madison WOM is working on a Pinetta and Greenville donation drop-off location at this time.
The Madison Police Department is located at 310 SW Rutledge St., in Madison. Edge of Town is located at 8289 US-90, in Lee.
