Martha Cecilia Narvaez Morales, DPT, age 57, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, in Madison, Fla.
Martha was born in Palmira, Colombia, to Dr. Oscar Narvaez and Mrs. Cecilia Morales de Narvaez. Martha is survived by three brothers: Jose Leonidas, Gonzalo and Oscar Ernesto; and three sisters: Ofelia, Maria Ximena and Elizabeth.
Martha was raised in Colombia, South America. She arrived in the United States of America in January of 1992, to work as a Physical Therapist, and she became a US Citizen in October of 2004. Martha earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of South Florida in December 2016.
Martha was a resident of Madison, Fla. for more than twenty years ago. She worked as a Physical Therapist at Lake Park of Madison Nursing and Rehabilitation. She attended New Life Christian Church International, and she was involved in several local ministries. Madison was dear to her heart, and she served the Madison community fervently. Martha was recognized for her community service with the Four Freedoms Pin recognition in 2004.
Friends who loved her describe her as "a bright light for Jesus in every situation," stating that "Martha's passion for God permeated everything she did," from working with the children's ministry, to leading Bible's studies and prayer meetings, to working at her job. Martha "could give you a warm hug without even touching you." "Martha was a strong prayer warrior, and she is now sitting at the feet of the One she loved, praising Him." Martha constantly sent encouraging text messages and Bible verses.
Martha was living in Tallahassee, Fla., to be close to her youngest sister Elizabeth; brother-in-law Juan; and nephews: Isaac and Mark Gonzales. Martha enjoyed spoiling "her precious boys" and spending quality family time and holidays with them. Elizabeth and her family deeply appreciate the kind expressions of sympathy that you have extended toward her family during this time of loss.
Martha carried the Great Commission with indescribable passion. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:19-20).
For many years, Martha traveled around the world, sharing the Gospel of Jesus and the love of God. During her mission trips, she visited China, Russia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Honduras. Lately, she was an active member of several ministries like Bible Study Fellowship and Celebrate Recovery, and she was a volunteer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Fla.
Martha was greatly loved and will be missed by friends and family.
Please join in celebrating her life on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m. at New Life Christian Church International, in Madison.
