Martha S. Roberts passed away of natural causes on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, in Tallahassee, Fla. She was 79-years-old.
Martha was born on March 8, 1942, in Madison, Fla. She was a cheerleader in high school. She attended the First Baptist Church, in Madison, and she truly loved the Lord. She married her husband, James H. Roberts Jr., and raised her two sons in Tallahassee thereafter. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in medical records. She sold Avon. She fished with her husband in the mountains of Georgia.
She had an amazing ability to brighten a person’s day with her vibrant conversations and the genuine care she had for people. She was a loving mother, a selfless sister, and a faithful daughter. She was always supportive to all her family and friends and will be greatly missed by them all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Hettie Selman, and her son, James H. Roberts III. Roberts is survived by her son, Deric Roberts; grandchildren: Arthur, Saya, and Lacey Roberts; brother, Gordon Selman, Jr. and her cousins: Peggy Tomlinson, Jimmy Register, Martha Register, and Buddy Register.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 11. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
