Growing up as the second oldest daughter at home, Clyde learned the importance of being responsible. She assisted her mom with the household duties, as well as taking care of her younger siblings. This work ethic remained a part of her in her own home, as well as in the workplace. She was employed at Gold Kist Poultry for nearly 25 years.
Clyde accepted Christ as her Savior early in her life and grew closer to Him by faith. Until her health failed, she was an active member who was dedicated in her service and attendance of Greater Community Church.
Clyde loved her family and the times they spent together. However, her grandchildren stole her heart. It was during these gatherings that Clyde’s excellence in cooking was applauded. Her greens, dressing, roasts and macaroni and cheese were always requested.
Despite the long hours of hard work, Clyde always had time to enjoy some of the things she loved to do. She loved to walk and she really loved the times that she and her sister, Vera, spent talking. She also enjoyed watching The Young and The Restless.
Clyde’s life and living were not in vain because she touched many lives in such a positive way. She departed this earth on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, to live in her forever home for all eternity.
