Mary K. Hamilton, 85, passed away on Oct. 11, 2017 in Lee, Fl. Mary was born on May 28, 1932 in Madison, Fl. to James L. Kent and Bertha Ingalls Obuchowski.
Mary was of the Christian faith and was a member of New Testament Christian Center. Mary was a homemaker and caregiver to many. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and was know as the “Quilt Lady” from Lee.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Hamilton; her son, Howie Hamilton; her parents, James L. Kent and Bertha Ingalls Obuchowski; her infant sister, Patricia Kent; and her brother, Lucian B. Kent. Mary is survived by her sister, Jimmie Warren and children: Kathy Hamilton (Ron Caplinger), Rick Hamilton (Karen) and Elaine Hamilton (Jeff Ray). She is also survived by grandchildren: Michael Brixey, Kristen Hamilton, Ricky Hamilton, Jake Hamilton and Stephanie Marguerite Hamilton; and great grandchildren; Caressa Daniels and Brooklyn Brixey; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Mary was also survived by her caregiver, Barbara Moore.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at 3 p.m. at New Testament Christian Center with Pat Doyle officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterwards in Corinth Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at New Testament Christian Center. All arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
