The Lady Broncos of Madison County Central School (MCCS) got their basketball season started in a winning fashion on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The Lady Broncos defeated Hamilton County by a score of 29-4. The Lady Broncos built up a 20-0 lead in the first half before continuing their dominant performance into the second half. Leading scorers for the Lady Broncos were Jamya Plummer with nine points, Nigeria Wooten had six points, Keishana Jonas and Nia Long scored five points each, while Terra Butler and Kamia Henderson scored two points each.
Then on Thursday, Nov. 10, the Lady Broncos hosted the team from Quincy-Shanks. The Lady Broncos found themselves trailing by a score of 10-11 at the end of the first half. Strong defensive play in the second half allowed the Lady Broncos to prevail by a final score of 29-21. Leading the Lady Broncos in scoring was Plummer who tallied 14 points, followed by Wooten, who added seven points. Long and Henderson both had 4 points each.
