On Thursday, March 31, the Madison County Central School held their annual sports banquet at the MCCS cafeteria at 6 p.m.
During the event, each athlete from each category of sport at MCCS were honored. Friends and family packed the cafeteria to show their support and enjoyed a delicious spaghetti dinner served by the MCCS cafeteria staff.
Special thanks was given to Christi and Brian Annett for putting the banquet together. MCCS Principal Willie Miles presented them with a plaque in appreciation.
Principal Miles was pleased with the turnout. “We really appreciate [everyone],” said Miles. “We measure our community by how they treat their youth.”
A total of 124 athletes participated this year at MCCS. Athletic Director Dustin Rucker, Christi Annett and Ben Annett devoted time to put the banquet together in order to recognize the players of every sport at MCCS. A small video slideshow was presented, complete with music and a photo of each athlete.
Each team was presented participation awards and different individuals of each team were honored by their coaches and given awards for Highest GPA, Most Improved, Most Valuable Player, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Judging by the crowd and proud smiles displayed by each team member of each sports category, the MCCS Annual Sports Banquet was a great success.
