It was a hot morning, but the warm temperatures didn't affect the excitement of the Madison County Central School students during their trip to the Florida State University campus, on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Jesse Solomon, Madison native and former linebacker for Florida State University (FSU) as well as the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins decided to take the Madison County Central School football players and cheerleaders to go see a FSU Seminoles game on Saturday, Sept. 10.
For many of these students, going to see a collegiate football game was not something they could have done on their own, so Solomon, aided by MCCS' Head Football Coach Carl Joseph and several student chaperones, paved the way for the students to not only see the game, but tour the FSU campus as well.
Buses from the Madison County School Board picked up the students and chaperones from the Winn-Dixie parking lot in Madison, and departed at approximately 9 a.m. The parking lot was buzzing with excited chatter as the students boarded the buses to head to Tallahassee.
The day quickly grew hot, but according to Solomon, the heat didn't bring down the moods of the excited Madison County Broncos as they took their seats in the Doak Campbell Stadium at Florida State University to watch the Seminoles vs. Charleston Southern's Buccaneers.
“It was hot out there,” said Solomon. “But they were pumped.”
The 'Noles would go on to wipe out the Buccaneers with a 52-8 score, providing the MCCS Broncos with a close up seat to the team's big win.
“There are bigger and better things they can do in their lives,” said Solomon, adding that taking them to see a football game may not seem like much, but it provided a picture to the Bronco football players and cheerleaders of what could await them if they stay out of trouble and apply themselves to their sport and studies.
