23 students from Madison County Central School were selected to attend the Suwannee Valley Regional Science Fair in Lake City from Feb. 17 – 18.
The event gathered students from across multiple counties to compete in the challenges of science.
Four of those students who attended the fair proved the strength of their minds at the event.
The event was geared for middle grade and high school students alike, with a separate winner’s division for the two groups of students.
While Madison does boast of four high school students who are going on to the statewide competition on March 29 – 31, the students at MCCS also proved themselves during the event at Lake City.
In the Junior Division Awards, the four winners were: Makenzie Myers, placing third in Behavioral and Social Science; Fisher Pike and Coleman Williams, both placing third in Chemistry and Eli Bull, placing second in Physics and Astronomy.
The MCCS students will not be going on to a statewide competition but instead were able to return home with the remarkable honor of their own performance.
