He has served as a teacher and
school administrator, as well as the Director of the An Achievable Dream Academy. An Achievable Dream Academy is a high performing, high poverty, inner city school that has received numerous national awards.
Hodge received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina A & T State University, where he graduated with honors. He earned his Master of Arts degree from Chapman University and his Doctor of Education degree from Virginia Tech, where he conducted extensive research on factors contributing to the success or failure of impoverished students. Hodge has a well-documented, proven ability to put research and theory into everyday practice in rural, urban, and suburban schools. He has helped educators of all grade levels make the changes needed to help all children meet and exceed rigorous academic standards.
Prior to his educational career, Hodge served in the U.S. Army. He distinguished himself as a member of the Seventh Infantry Division.
Hodge has been a sought-after inspirational speaker throughout the United States. He has been a guest lecturer at Christopher Newport University, Hampton University, North Carolina A & T State University, and George Washington University. His presentations have often been viewed as “the spark” for schools in their quest to meet and exceed state and federal accreditation standards.
Dr. Hodge will be speaking to students at MCCS throughout the day on April 3, before speaking to teachers at the end of the school day. He will be speaking to the public at 6 p.m. in the MCCS gymnasium. Admission to the public lecture is free.
