The Madison County High School (MCHS) Band hosted their annual Spring Concert on Thursday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the MCHS gymnasium. The concert was directed by band director, James DeLuca, as his last concert before resigning from MCHS. The night consisted of performances from the Concert and Jazz Bands.
The evening began with the Jazz Band, playing pieces such as, “Chameleon” by Herbie Hancock, “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong and “Anyway You Want It” by Journey.
Next up was the Concert Band, performing “Themes from Walt Disney's Aladdin” and “Jurassic Park.”
Before the final piece, DeLuca took a moment to recognize the graduating seniors, giving them each a parting gift.
The final piece of the night was an arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury, a great ending to a great night.
