The Madison County High School’s JV and Varsity cheerleaders attended FCA Cheer Camp at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fl. on July 27-30. The cheerleaders learned about cheerleading skills and techniques but it offered time for the girls to grow as a team and as individuals spiritually. Each evening, the girls participated in worship and huddle meetings. The teams were recognized for several honors. The JV and Varsity team took home the Spirit Sword. Varsity Captains Kevisa Moore and Asha Davis were recognized for showing great leadership to their team. Bridgette Ferrell was recognized for her teamwork. Tyresha Hudson won the JV Jump-Off Contest. The Heart of an Athlete Award was presented to Callie Henderson for the JV team and Alexis Bowen for the Varsity team. The JV team won the award Best of the Best JV Supreme Routine. Trinity Mathis, Tyresha Hudson and Kevisa Moore were chosen as All-American Cheerleaders at the FCA Camp. As a reward for being chosen, the girls will be able to perform at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl this December. Cheerleading Coach Ruth Ann Latner wanted everyone to know that the girls loved FCA Camp and truly appreciated the opportunity they were given to go. The girls would like to thank their parents and all those in the community who supported them and helped make FCA Camp possible.
