Tickets will go on sale for the general public on Thursday, Feb. 15. There will be a limited number of tickets available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. The $20 ticket includes a steak dinner. The banquet is scheduled to take place on Monday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Madison Church of God, located at 771 NE Colin Kelly Hwy., in Madison.
Thompson, a native of Greenville, was drafted in the fifth round by the Washington Redskins out of Florida State University. Thompson has played for the Redskins for five seasons. The 2017 campaign was shaping up to be a break-out year for Thompson. He had amassed 294 yards rushing and a 4.6 yards-per-carry average with two rushing touchdowns. Thompson also had 510 yards receiving with four touchdowns through the air. Then, on Nov. 19, Thompson suffered a season-ending injury during a game with the New Orleans Saints. Thompson has been progressing with rehabilitation since that time and expects to be back for the 2018 season with the Redskins. Thompson's message is sure to be one of perseverance, faith and inspiration.
