Several members of the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboys varsity football team recently took time out from their summer workouts to serve the community. On Wednesday, June 19, six Cowboys joined Timmy Dyke and others from the community to help build a mobility ramp for a Madison County resident.
Dyke frequently helps build ramps at no charge for citizens with mobility difficulties across the region. Community groups such as the Madison Rotary Club, as well as individuals throughout the area, help provide the materials and manpower for the ramp building projects.
The Cowboys who helped with the ramp build were: Omari Minor, Blake Hasty, Antonio Pascual, Marshall Pike, Jake Myers and Archer Pike. “I’m very proud of the guys that showed up on our day off,” said MCHS Head Football Coach Price Harris.
The first look at the MCHS Cowboys will take place on Friday, Aug. 16, when the Cowboys host the Wakulla High School War Eagles in the Kickoff Classic. Kickoff for the preseason contest is set for 7:30, at Boot Hill Stadium.
