The Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowgirls softball team is raising funds for uniforms, equipment and other expenses needed for the upcoming season.
The team is still looking for banner sponsors for the season. Sponsorship banners are $200 for new sponsors and $100 for renewing sponsors. Contact Head Coach Matt Replogle at matthew.replogle@mcsbfl.us if interested. The team will also be hosting their annual "hit-a-thon" and home run derby on Friday, Feb. 5, at Cowgirl Field. The hit-a-thon will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. and will continue until 5:30 p.m. The home run derby will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until 8 p.m. The home run derby is open to the public and contestants will have the opportunity to swing for the fences to win some valuable prizes.
The home opener for the Cowgirls is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19, against the Lady Tigers of Columbia High School. Both the junior varsity and varsity teams will be in action. The first pitch for the junior varsity contest is set for 6 p.m. The varsity game will follow at 8 p.m.
